Discover the Madidi National Park biodiversity with Yuruma Journeys

Yuruma Journey is an initiative that offers sustainable tourism trips in the Madidi National Park. There is a hostel and a shelter, both located on the Santa Rosa Lake shores. The Lodge is a fantastic place for nature lovers, with vast pristine wealth and a variety of mammal and bird species as well as other types of fauna.

Lodging is offered in comfortable and safe hanging tents, river transport with safety guarantee, bilingual guide service and themed trails, among others.

With tourism activity, Yuruma Journeys seeks to minimize negative impacts on its community’s nature, culture, and local traditions. Therefore, creating jobs in order to improve their economic income.

The kitchen staff, from the San Jose de Uchupiamonas town, offers a complete diet as required by the visitor, including local, national, international, vegetarian, and vegan options.

The shelter is located on the Santa Rosa Lake shores and offers a more exclusive experience, with accommodation in private cabins and access to a platform on the lake to enjoy nature.

The best time to visit is from April to September, but is open throughout the year, upon request.

Way to get there:

  • Must first arrive in Rurrenabaque, Beni department, by land or air. From Rurrenabaque, access by outboard motor boat traveling around four to six hours, depending on the time of year.

  • The Refuge is located on the Santa Rosa Lake sh ores, in the heart of the Madidi National Park and Integrated Management Area, in the San Jose de Uchupiamonas Indigenous Territory, Abel Iturralde province, La Paz department.

Best time to visit:

  • For better enjoyment and to be in contact with nature, it is recommended to organize your trip between April and September. But according to the visitors’ time and availability, visits are organized any time of the year.

Way to get there:

  • To get to Rurrenabaque you can opt for public buses, private taxis or by air. Please call the contact number to get your best option.
